An Irish pub otherwise known as a “bar” or “lounge” is an establishment permitted to sell and serve alcoholic drinks for consumption on the premises. Irish pubs are peculiar in a unique way and their culture is centered around a friendly and casual environment, good food and drinks, Irish sports and Irish traditional music.
With its beautiful long and untainted coastline, it is no news that Ireland houses spectacular seafood restaurants. Ranging from plump native oysters to wild Atlantic salmon, Dublin bay prawns to fat lobsters, it is a perfect place for a fishy feed. One of the best places to find such meals and delights is the Nicks Seafood and Gastro Bar.
Nicks Seafood and Gastro Bar is a multi award-winning restaurant and gastro bar started first in the year 1976 by Nick Foley and wife, Anne. Since then, it has long been the ‘must go-to” dinning place and restaurant in Munster. In the year 2015, the family restaurant business was taken over Nick’s son and has since then upgraded the menu to all the changing demands of the elegant fine-diner.
With over 40 yeas experience in the restaurant business, the Foley family knows what is at stake to remain at the very top of the restaurant business, having many competitions. The restaurant has won many awards over the years including the Irish Restaurant Awards 2016 Best Gastro Bar award.
The restaurant is located in Killorglin, County Kerry and opens between the hours of 4:30 pm and 10:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday of every week.
